how do u name your tracks?
That's a very good question. When the tracks are not for RP, what I've been doing lately is naming them according to my mood or what I'm feeling. Naming tracks has been a struggle for me. -

I'm working on a track right now where I've sampled from Ronnie Milsap (he's country right?) And it doesn't have that signature country sound either with the twangy guitars and what not. It's a sweet soulful keyboard riff. -

I do both. On some tracks I produce, they are designed for someone else to spit on. On other tracks, my heart and soul is connected to them and no one can do it justice they way I can because what i'm hearing in my head. -

For me, it depends on the song and what vibe I'm trying to capture. I grew up listening to music of all sorts so my answer is, I'll sample anything and everything that sounds hot. I try not to limit myself to what I will and won't sample. The minute I do that will be the minute I stop growing... -
Vinyl to Digital
I've got one of those USB turntables. Sweet. Quality is real clean too. It came with Audacity software. A real decent audio editor. I love the convienece of it. Record - Chop - Effects - Save as WAV, AIFF or MP3 and get your bang on!! -

Ok, here's my setup. I ended up moving all this stuff to the current location you see here (living room) instead of the cramped dinning room it was all in before. The "wall of vinyl" (not pictured) is still in the dinning room though.
