chopped and screwed
I'm in Texas and I personally don't dig the chopped and screwed sound, but my students all want to learn to do it. I have handful of guys that are good enough now that local acts acts are payin them to chop and screw their cd's. We use either soundforge or audition. open the tracks, screw them... -

Audition OR Forge? and 1 other thing
Audition is more versatile, like you said you can record vocals over tracks in it. For chopping both are good. For years I used SoundForge for chops, but I found that the selection utilities in Audition are a little smoother. I find myself accidentally losing selections in SoundForge more... -
Who's your Fav. prod. and why?
Blaze, Alchemist, and Madlib are real nice, but Im feelin Dilla. He can be smooth, rough, or whatever. Great basslines and filtering. -
Reverb On Drums
I put reverb on everything, i just vary the amount for each sound based on the depth that i want it to have in the soundscape. Snares always get the most. -
Acid Users
