Zoom sampletrak and Reaper

I ordered a zoom sampletrak as it has pretty good reviews and I got it for $50. I plan to use it for drums and samples bass etc, and use reaper for mixing adding vsts etc.I'm thinking the best way do do this is record the sampletrak into reaper using audio cause i heard the midi sucks.(ex.kick on track1 ,snare track2 sample chops track3) To have more control as far as mixing.What do you guys think
