ditto cuz... i hate that same formula...... i see alot of producers on this forum tryin to take it back to early, mid ninties instead of bring new ideas to the table..i dont think u cab get in the game nowadays if u dont come wit some original, completely ur style type shit..i mean a hot beat is a hot beat, but all the top producers got there own patented recognizable style....instead of trying to mimick it like many i try to come out of left field wit some other, nevr heard before type shit....i got some way crazy ass tracks that I put aside to come out wit at the right moment....im feelin that statemtn hard killa..no doubt..

That's a good question. I just wanna bring my ideas. I have a head full of ideas not just beat wise. I just wanna bring my style and be known as one of the greats.

The way i see it we were all born unique lets not die a copy. I wanna do me myself and I and sound like me so when you hear a bass line you can be like oh K.O. made that beat. Or you will hear a melody and say that sounds like something he would play. I dont try to go backwards in time and sound like stuff from back in the day and i would never wanna be compared to others.

I thought you guys were talking about your image?

So far eveyone is talking about their content...and being very vague about it. Everybody wants to be different. But what makes you different? The simple statement about trying not be like anyone else puts you on the same page as everyone else.

What is Killa Matrixxx? A lot of people call themselves killa and the idea of the matrix ain't nothing new so how are you any different? I did notice the triple x. Is that a lead into your image?

K.O....when you post a beat anywhere what do you think happens? You get compared to everyone, its part of the cycle.

Afrique...as big as hip hop is now, what do you think can be done that is new?

I am not trying to be an ass....I was just trying to expand on this idea. How do you know where you are going when you don't know where you've been? I feel what you're saying Holmz about the mid ninties but I think what the problem can be is that some people try to do new things without mastering the basics. You gotta know whats been done to be able to move into uncharted territory.

If I can't make a phat ass track like Primo, Timbo, The Neptunes, Dre or anyone else that I admire, what makes me think I can do something better? And well, I hope whatever it is different you come up with...it will be better cuz what's the point of doing it if it ain't phat.

Hey,

Everyone is trying to be 'different', yet they're afraid to rap over country or zydeco music. Even to my own music (which I think is ligitimately different than a lot of the stuff that you hear on the streets), people say 'it isn't really hip hop' because it IS different.

The only time you really are being 'different' is when someone says you aren't following the rules; the proof is when someone calls you out on it.

My goal is not to be the next Neptunes or Dre, but to be the first Vitaminman.

I think:
Make what sounds good to you and instead of trying to achieve some equal level of acceptance amongst others who are capitalizing on something they created in their own way - instead do tha same but in your own way...Take and use good influences that you stumble across, but dont suck tha marrow out of that shit!.....Instead use it to your advantage and let it inspire you to try something unique that youve never tried before.

Why try to be someone your not?....Im sure as hell not Dre, or Tim - and honestly, it would be lovely to bask in tha fortune and glory of being one of tha top dogs...But i'd rather let that come to me if it ever does assuming that i deserved it and paid my dues by doin my own thing and creatin sounds that make me happy first.

Firstly, as original as you want to be, your music will always be influenced by other peoples music which you like. As Dj Shadow said on Endtroducing "the music is going through me." i do however think that once you have some inspiration from other music, you can take the idea and expand on it or convert it to your own form.

personally, i would like to bring something new to the table. obviously i will have my own style (as everyone does) but id also just like to experiment and find ideas which have not been concieved yet. Thats the good thing about being influenced by experimental music.....it leads you to experiment aswell.

i really do think we need more experimental artists. that where innovation takes place. but, ofcourse, change is not always accepted............unless the change is CLEARLY DOPE.

As for me I don't know, I'm just trying to make ONE really ill beat with the cheap stuff i have and rap on it. Maybe the thing I would like the most is being the youngest ill rapper and a ill producer, now I'm 15, and I aint produce more than 5 track and only 2 are good. So maybe that dream of being youngs and super talented is impossible, then, the only thing I want is to be recognise by the hip hop community.

peace
