I @Iron Keys love unique voices period in and beyond Hip Hop.

I @Fade like some of DMX’s work. Why were you never a fan?

Xzibit really was slept on back in the day but I remember him being really popular around 99/ 2000 (at least in my region). I think the push for him from the label lost momentum shortly after that, then the MTV show (Pimp my ride) kind of made him lose street cred in some weird way.
Mainly because he was so damn nice ...
I noticed right after that it wasn't really cool to listen to him in school anymore, though I still did because I wasn't cool any ways lol.

@Space_Alexander yeah I know what you mean. I think it’s like as soon as you are in the public eye as on the show people see him as a human being rather than their perceived 24/7 gangster. It’s like they need him to look permanently pissed off but then see another side to him and it’s like ‘ah man that ain’t cool’.
Same in fighting like take ufc as example. Fans love the trash talking arsehole over the nice respectful fighter even if the decent fighter would tear the others head off. People secretly love the drama of the gangster / bad boy type and when anything other is shown they lose that street cred. Gotta love us humans eh :ROFLMAO:

MTV show (Pimp my ride)
Yeah i feel this had a detrimental effect on his music career.

Even for me a little it threw me off. I don't think it was suited to his rap personality, couls have found to make it work but it was too removed.

Snoop Dogg would have been the perfect candidate to host Pimp My Ride. And it wouldn't have impacted Snoops Career negatively.

Re: listening @Space_Alexander to Xzibit and feeling it wasn't cool to do so, school is a great litmus test for herd mentality and groupthink, favorites change as they should as it's called maturing but if you still dig X past his heyday, listen to him. Every artist eventually falls into obscurity with the passage of time.

Humans @InsideOutBeats are weird, we say we want people to be themselves, be different, etc. but then we get pissed when they don't conform and praise them when they do. It's why I get it but don't necessary condone when contemporary (c)rappers and actual rap artists shit on their "fans" 'cause Hip Hop "fans" don't know what they want. Rappers could be all about talent and no ignorance and fans still shit on 'em.

Xzibit @Iron Keys would've been perfect hosting a battle rap show considering he was in 8 Mile.
