As fans anxiously await Raekwon, Method Man and Ghostface Killah's upcoming group album, Wu-Massacre, Meth revealed that the recording process wasn't quite what he expected.

"Def Jam put a rush on it," said Tical to MTV News. "We didn't have a lot of time to work on it. We recorded with no budget. It is what it is. We did this for the fans. It felt good to get in the studio with Rae and Ghost. The future looks bright."

The rush was likely due to recently successful Wu-Tang and Wu-related projects like Method Man and Redman's Blackout! 2, Ghostface Killah's Wizard of Poetry, and Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II.

Elaborating on the project, Method explained that the purpose of the album was to put out something for the fans - not to slight the rest of the Wu-Tang Clan. "This album could have been done by Deck, U-God and GZA. Either/or, it's still Wu-Tang. The bottom line with this LP, it was something fans always requested. It's like, what else was we doing? It was a given. Hopefully, we can all get back in the studio and get enough time to really work on an LP."

So true...you know they have already forecast their income on this CD and they're probally trying to take care of some bills from it's sells. There are a lot of labels really feeling the pressure right now, don't be surprised if the whole record label process isn't revamped in the near future. I mean they are in with the "performance tax" and now rushing artist on their projects...the drama continues!

No, its just that they have spunked most of the budget on Jay Z, and Rhiannas projects.
To be honest Im surprised Def Jam even has anything to do with Wu anymore.

Def Jam still exits?? lol no but seriously only Island Def Jam is really doing anything. Labels SHOULD be restructuring!! If they dont have the business savy to understand they are being replaced then they dont deserve the reputation nor the money that keeps them relevant today. Every little thing they do to "Keep them afloat" today, is digging their hole deeper.

Matter of fact I was reading this just the other day. http://gizmodo.com/5481545/record-labels-change-or-die
