Well surely if ILL had a beat battle in NY, ILL would also have them other places depending on its success or failure. Relic and I have been lightly discussing the possibilities of such an event.
First "we" ILLheads would have to do some fund raising for the major expenses (conference room rental, trophies/awards, minor catering.
We could get discounted rates at a hotel, rent the party/conference room for 3 nights.
First night, Friday, would be something of a get together and vibe type gathering where people could meet each other shake hands or whatever.
Saturday could be the beat battle then after party in the conf. room.
Sunday, Awards and Honors day.
Contestants would be responsible for thier rooms, food (other than the catering) and the entry fee.
The general public would have a small admission fee to get in.
All contestants will recieve something from a Certificate of Recognition to Trophies or PLaques, Champion gets the GOLD ILLMUZIK BELT!
Very simple to put together and organize but it would take a team effort to get things rolling. Maybe do a interest poll for the public in whatever area (NY, DC, NC or where ever) just to get an idea on how much interest would be involved. Ofcorse we would target the high interest ares first!

Seriously, the thing about the internet is that it's inclusive; to do something like this will inevitably exclude some even if you included other major centres like London. What about Jerusalem, Sydney, Durban etc?

u wouldnt even need all that .... just make the event one night ... rent out a spot equipped for a beat battle ... like nyrocian cafe, or any other numerous places that already hosts beat battles... also.... there are numerous clubs that will allow u to "piggyback" onto their promo listif u guarantee a certain amount of people ... i could easily arrange the venue literally a few days (me and boys ran a promo company and we have done events at all the most popular clubs in nyc and have some really good connects to do events at clubs).... but the problem is getting firm commitment that people will actually show up... u would need one of two things to make that happen u would need
1) a GURANTEED number of people that would show up for the event + some upfront money
or
2) all the upfront money
in other words setting up the venue would be pretty damn easy, thats cake. the hardest part would be getting enough people to really support the event.. and also u would need a host and prolly some acts to fill in the gaps, but thats easy too....shit ... i know plenty acts that would come through, including stress and buku.. yup the hardest thing is actually getting evryone there and actually making it happen. aint nuttin to it but to do it.
I feel what your saying but, you want to attract people from surrounding states also, not just NY, you want DC, Delaware, Maryland and so on within a reasonable driving distance and most people are gonna want more than a one night deal. Alot of cats wouldn't show up just because its one night. The idea is to make money and invest in the next event and so on...I'm looking at the bigger picture but within reason not some backyard ish. Hell in that case all you need is the green light from Fade and call it a driveby.

I'm just playing devil's advocate. Although I have noticed that there's quite a few very active and experienced members who aren't from the US who should be considered, (not myself, lol, I'm not good enough yet).
Maybe you could hook up some sort a live internet feed where overseas cats can participate???????

From there I will fly contestants and acts to London where 2good and Haze will host and have a decent pub/venue that we can smoke in available..
If this fails Formant will help host this in amsterdam It WILL be a 3-5 day venue all inclusive meals and drinks either way..
Round 2 IS in NYC in which euro members and WIngs will be flown in..
Wings will be getting married to a fly ass hippie ass american sista during this event so he can stay here and not get shot at again....with sand around...Here I cant guarantee they aint shooting , especially in NYC but it aint with Iranian weapons.
Order 66 preforms along with other NYC members and the Candians and Swivel gives a seminar on how to do this thing right and Shadeed has the Blowin up from the basement thing goin on 2.
ROUND 3 ..THEN we take 17 tour bus's down to ATL so yall can partake of the georgia peach girls and we do it with the southern members.Dont sleep this is hot here..Might just wanna stay.
ROUND 4 next we catchin flights to LA where Agent Smith and Sanova host the west coast thing.
For this stage no wearing of blue or red colors is allowed in your wardrobe and we have a hella lotta fun on the west coast.
At this point the money runs out and your all stranded to get back home , butIm sure you have had fun as you become either the next big thing or homeless in America which will give you a new perspective on the country!

I think I mentioned earlier in a post that was lost in the crash: All my music stuff is sitting at the docks here while I get to experience Chinese customs' love first hand, (it's taken about two months and still no end in sight), they're straight up bastards. As soon as I'm set up and produce something I'll post it up, m'okay?
(actually, there are some tracks produced by myself on the net from about 7 years ago; recorded on a tascam four track, lol, I think I'll keep those to myself). Sorry for going off topic.
