I had my first meeting yesterday with a producer manager, they have worked and placed songs with Mya, Sisquo and have 1 track that will be on the upcoming J-Lo album, I took a total of 18 of my tracks there for them to listen to, they REALLY liked 5 of them as being very good concepts and they have all but assured me of getting placed on a project they gave me an open door invitation with them to build with their staff also, after listening to what I brought to the table they then played me songs from their catalog and it was absolutely mind blowing, I have advice for some people on the site that is real once again, and this is from the horses mouth, you can have theeeeee hottest beats but thats no guarantee on anything, He let me hear songs I thought were absolutely amazing but still not getting bit on...then he played some tracks that have been getting placements with some ok production and some I thought were no where as near as good as the hot commercial stuff he had and not better than the HOTTTT on fire joints I heard....this is the crazy thing about the industry, to give you and idea of the calibre of first single they placed was Adina Howard "Freak like me" and they have managed Chink Santana(murda inc) and Demi-Doc (Ashanti) and another Producer named Rich...(not rich Harrison) that Produced for Sisquo, Ice Cube and some other established artists.......other advice they also gave me was to find some producer to work with that either have had placements or worked with some projects that known producers are on, I am currently working with two other producers right now that have been providing me with a lot of good stuff......what is the lesson in all of this....well I have been below ground for awhile and I want to get a lil extra money for my efforts, having a song placed can get you from 5-15,000 dollars and maybe some other perks..........I have kept you up to date on a lot of my travels, I have built a nice catalog of beats that I have been keeping together over the years, the other thing is build a catalog of YOUR BEST joints if you want to shop them..........like I said I been below ground for awhile and I am finally trying to shop some of my catalog to majors right now.
