OK, so I've just picked up a new mixer, hoping to use it alongside my MPC, turntable and obviously my PC.

Now I've managed to link everything through the mixer INTO the PC (by connecting the main outs of the mixer to the soundcard line-input), but what I'm trying to do is run the master signal from the PC, INTO the mixer (This way I can control the master via my mixer rather than the monitor control).

I've only got the inbuilt PC soundcard with one out and one in, I'm guessing that this'll be a problem...? Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

CARPE.

to record a sound from your PC into your MPC you will need to connect the an audio output on your soundcard to the REC IN inputs on your MPC!

im a bit confused about the wording on the other bits, as for having only one input on your monitors thats normal, what did you expect to have on these ?

try and explain the other bit of your post and hopefully i'll be able to sort it for you m8 !

He has the basic sound card that came with his pc. That's his number one problem. Not enough inputs and outputs. He just got a mixer that he has all his gear connected to but he comes out of the mixer to that one sound card imput. I told him that he can come out of the monitor output which is analoyg 1/4 into his mixer if he's trying to sample something from his pc but that he'll probably get a feed back loop if he doesn't disconnect the mpc from the mixer first or at least mute that channel. He'll probably have to use head phones to hear what he's sampling and then after he's done he can reconnnect the mpc to the mixer so he can hear it thru his monitors....anybody got a better suggestion? He knows he needs to upgrade his sound card.

ah rite i see, thats a clearer explanation, ermm yea like you said you could take the feed from the monitors but you will get feedback unless you play it thru ur phones which is a bit of a pain in the ass until you get a new soundcard tho i dnt think theres a way round this ! ?

Yeah that's what I thought, apologies for the shit wording of it all, when it comes to wiring I'm useless. Gonna give that a try later today.

Yeah, I get this, but rather than go straight from my PC into the MPC, I'd like to run the signal through the mixer. I'm gonna have to use the headphones to monitor whilst sampling I think.

hmmm is there any reason you want to run it thru your mixer ?
the problem then is your output from ur mpc is going to go thru the mixer at the same time, you guna get feedback etc
if you upgrade your soundcard you can have the main pc output going to the mixer and then and 2nd output that you can use on the stuff you want to sample and just put this straight into your mpc !

I've come up with a temporary solution, so it's cool for now, definately gonna grab a new Soundcard though and run the outs into the mixer and MPC seperately. But re:feedback, if you mute the desired channel from the master mix you can cut out the feedback loop...

Cheers for the help.
