if you have a noisy cheap card with low cost audio decoders/processors/DAC (digital to analog converters) yes a more expensive higher quality card will make a difference, adding more ram may help but your sound card functions and handles information based upon its own memory, called buffers, this is sort of like cache where information can sort of be filed away as it moves along and is processed.....another thing to look at is the cpu in your computer is it a newer one lik an intel p4 etc....over 1 or 2gb processor?

if ur beats sound just about the same when u listen to them threw a system you dont need a new sound card. if fl keeps skipping when ur creating ur beats you just need more ram. but buyin both cant hurt because there cheap as hell.

if the one u have now doesn't have ASIO support, then yeah getting one with it would make a big difference.

I dont know about the ram thing... I got a gig in mine and when I start play the sytrus it starts to sound bad... but if I burn a cd with the beat on it you cant even tell it was trippin that bad.. from what other people have been tellin me is that I need a new sound card.. sucks cause I need sound cards for 2 computers now..

try this if you already have a soundcard that doesnt have asio drivers

If you do decide to get a soundcard get one with asio drivers and zero latency.
Zero latency is what you really want.

well

I got a m-audio mobile pre, external soundcard, and when I installed it all the clicking and popping when away, and my comp. is like 80 gigs and is shitfaced w/ music and pornos, but when I play FL there's no clicks at all so you can try that.
