I agree that racism discussions add character, but it also adds hatred, heated conversations, annamosity and a list of other unfruitful things...I admit that this thread has gone well and has exceeded my expectations but there hasn't been any REAL race related issues brought up yet, its all been very general in content. But to each's own, if you cats feel its a must...go ahead and say "fugg the rules" and do your thing, just keep in mind who made the rules and why they were put in place...with that said...I could be wrong but on my computer screen I see and qoute...
No Race or Religion discussions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Even though The Basement is a place to discuss anything, Race or Religion threads always end up being closed because of too many heated arguments. So from now on, those topics CANNOT be discussed here any longer, unless it's directly related to music.
Examples: Threads that are okay:
"Colin Powell is releasing a CD, and he produced all of it himself!"
"I like Christian Rap, do you guys have any favorites?"
Threads that are NOT okay:
"Bush is an ass, when will you americans learn?"
"Today I was in Church and the priest said....."
If a thread is not exactly about Race or Religion, but it ends up going in that direction, either those posts will be removed, or the thread will be closed, or those posters will be asked to get back on topic.
Everyone is still free to discuss anything they wish, except these topics. It could have easily been Sports or Fashion that was banned, but instead it's Race and Religion, because we all know that those threads never end nicely. We're trying to keep this site related to Hip-Hop Production!
Thanks for understanding.
Maybe this needs to be removed...

Amazing, never in my life have I seen a more unfunny, offensive load of bullshit. Thanks for making a dick of yourself.
Most of y'all know that Ive been away for a minute and this is late as heyell on my part but I gotta comment on this...Sincock, I'm feeling you on this one to some degree...My thing is that I hate racism with a passion...This IS a form of racism that alot of people have accepted as OK but some, like you and I just don't find it 100% amusing.
Its kinda like seeing a funny ass accident happen...I saw this dude chasing his wife in my neighborhood, they were just playing but while she was running, she was looking back at him and not in front of her...she ran into a fence that was about waste high and did a flip, landed on her back and one leg got caught on the fence...she is a very big lady too, Im guessing around 280lbs...I mean, it's not funny because she could have been seriously hurt but at the same time it's just funny as heyell to see a woman her size do that.
My first reaction was concern about her but after we saw that she was OK, we almost died laughing. Some would have laughed from the begining, some wouldn't have laughed at all. Racism can be funny if its mild and unharmful to the person offended. To others, it can be insulting and humiliating.
Once again, I understand your view on this but at the same time, others will view it differently and find it amusing. Your thought process seemed to be much deeper on this issue which made others think you're taking it too seriously. I think thats some other level bull*^it but anyway, when you take away the humorous aspect of the list, it IS racist.

Racism is here and will never go away
kontents we need a mexican people thread..lol
good point dac .... but
with ur post u raise the question of what exactly is racism.... if racism is having pre-conceived attitudes and conclusions about people based on your previous experiences with their race then im sorry but we are all racists. Everyone on the planet. There is no way around that. However I wouldnt call that blog or this thread racist. Prejudice yes, but everybody is prejudice in some shape or fashion, it just natural and part of our biological nature to "seperate" people into "catergories" whether their skin color is a factor or not. If someone tells me they are not prejudice at all, Then they are lying or they have there head to far up their own ass to even see whats going on. Which would make them ignorant.
I've really been trying to stay out of this debate but I have to say something.
That's really sad that you see the world like that, and I don't mean that in a patronising way at all. Yes people look different and come from different cultures but if you can't realise that we are all individuals and each person is unique then I would question your humanity. I don't know what your life experience is but if you really think like that then I feel that you are distancing yourself from the fantastic diversity of the human race.
When I think of all the different people of different races and cultures I have known in my life the only ones I tend to lump together are the ignorant, unquestioning ones that can't see outside of their own limited paradigm and they come from all groups. Maybe I'm prejudiced against the ignorant.
When I look at the thread on Black people I don't see any similarity with any black friends or acquaintances of mine either; maybe because their life experiences and background is different from the black people that you all know. Same with the white thread; maybe it rings true to some of you but the only people that I know like that are rich hippies who, by the way, are not all white.
Instead of having pre-conceived notions of people based on your experience with those of the same race why not make an effort to change your pre-conceptions and meet and get to know people as individuals. You might be surprised.
It's too easy to just accept the dominant paradigm as being the only way of seeing the world. Open your eyes and your mind and look around.
EDIT: People have made a lot of mention of comedians such as Richard Pryor (RIP) and Dave Chappelle as being great examples of people who use racism to make humour but the work of theirs I'm familiar with is not racist. It addresses racial issues but the humour is usually directed at racists rather than at other races. The Chappelle skit that was mentioned where he's a blind, black KKK member is funny cause it shows how stupid racism is. That's how you build bridges by showing people how ridiculous their behaviour is. Humour of the "Black people do this; white people do that" variety is outdated and not edgy just ignorant.
