who uses samples from magazines?

hey-
jus wondering, i know a bunch of yall probably subscribe to music magazines like futuremusic or computer music or eq or something- and they always come with CDs packed full of random weird samples. im askin, how often do you use these samples in your music? and how often do you think the majors use them? just thinkin bout it

i bought a music tech mag which came with a dvd. i use it to compose everything. it came with sounds from different roland keyboards that have a 70s sound. it also came with drum sounds that were recorded using a mic technique that a lot of british rock bands used in the 60s and 70s. i beef them up so that they hit hard yet still have an organic sound to them.

i don't use any of the loops contained on it though

You know I'll go thru them and say I could use a few of them.
But after a while you forget all about them.That is the problem when you have too
much stuff.

I listen to the sounds and pull what I like but I have yet to use any of them.
