I forgot to mention Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai. It's not really considered a hip hop movie, but the soundtrack is ill. Many of the tracks are by RZA and the rest of Wu-Tang. The movie was tight too. If ya haven't seen it, check it out.

With the very limited selection of movies actually about hip hop, I think people are picking moves that at least have soundtracks dominated by hip hop. All good selections mentioned so far.

i never pick favorites, different movies bring different elements. i don't think any one encapulates hiphop entirely.. that would be impossible

I gotta go with 8 mile. I think it was the first GOOD movie that pictured an inspiring rapper that comes to my mind. Juice is not about hiphop, it's more of a street bangers/young dudes caught up in bullshit. Plus, in my opinion Lose Yourself is one of the best lead song of a movie.
