What is the best way as a new and aspiring artist to break into the industry ?

How would you establish creating a fan base and getting your music(cd's) to your fan base ?

Also how does a unsigned act get a crack on a local radio station for publicitY ?

Basically.. How would you go about promoting yourself as a solo artist or group that is trying to do big things... and you have good music to offer the community .. and if you say networking.. Where to network at and with who ? Especially in small cities... What are some great business moves to make.. Online and offline... to get yourself known... well try to make yourself a bigname in your hood with great productions from local mcs.once u got your hood backing you up try to own your city then the rest will follow.dont release or give away unfinished tracks just for promotion or something, give away only your best finished work u gotta come real professional.try to develope an artist or try to fix on one and make a tight album that u can promote then make some shows wiht him in a club or something.maybe some mixtapes to make some heat on the streets.

if all this dont work then.....................................

DISS FIFTY! hahaahahahha then u got a boost or just diss jayz or sumtin.
thats how the big players make it this dayz and that SUCKZ.this dayz its more important to creat an image and get attention from public while dissing other cats
but its not the fault from the artist its THE MEDIA THAT HYPES THEM AND PAYS ATTENTION TO THIS BULLSHIT

its a bad trend right now in the hiphopgame that is payd mo attention to diss and image of an artist insteat of the SKILLZ N MUZIK.

open mind.

first and foremost, get your music to a point where people SHOULD be interested. When you listen to it, you shouldnt say, DAMN, thats as good as that 50 track i heard.' you need to be good in your own right.

Theres no majic way to get known though. Thats why this forum has so many people on it, and why there are sooo many more people out there trying to get a rep. Its just not enough fame for all of us.

There's no one way to skin a cat or cook a chicken, what works for one guy might not work for another, especially in a business as fickle as music BUT there are universal laws to business that if applied will increase your chances.

But to keep this thread moving along, my #1 advice to anybody aspiring to do anything in music is: Learn how to do any many side jobs in the industry as possible. If you're an engineer, start learning to make beats.
If you're a publicist, learn about artist management- if you're a rapper, start ghostwriting if its available. There's a lot of people behind-those-cameras making a good living off the music business- Not everybody is gonna be the next Yung Joc or Kan-yeezy, so if this is what you love find a way to survive in this game.

Read Blowing Up From Basement, it's a lot of detail in those articles and it's 102% based on real people/artists and real situations.

do you really need to post in between every other post asking for more? obnoxious...

Post some music. You seriously should just focus on your music untill you deserve to get something out if it. I havent heard anything, but based on your demeanor, id guess you should spend some more time late nights in the lab learning.

I might be wrong, just a prediction. Prove it.

Easy. Get a cheap synth and make some really stupid patterns with some booming kicks. Make sure it sounds like absolute SHIT. Then, master it to make it really pop.

Over that, just yell "Get crunk, 1, 2, 3, 4, 'cause that's the way my partners roll" Dance around like a drunk-ass muthafucka and shake your ass like a faggot, then bring in a good looking girl who can't rap OR sing and get her to repeat your lines.

There you go, INSTANT crunk success! :D

ask yourself after you make a track if you will buy this or if you see people buying this..............at the end of the day this industry is about dollars lol

follow your heart and just love making music...someone eventually will feel your passion
