whats the best equipment to have for hiphop

as far as a sampler a keyboard a beat machine, mixer or program, just things that will produce some nice beats whats some good combo's?

Akai MPC is the nicest...you get that with pro tools, a good mixer, and a keyboard like a triton or a motif and you got a sick ass studio...mad cheese to get that flipped

You can do just about anything with alot of different stuff....hardware or even software. Deciding which is best for you is personal preference. Just cuz you have good eqpt for making "hip hop" doesnt mean you will do it

i think you can do anything with your creativity. No need to spend all the money to do stuff. Yes its cool to have new equipement, but i would say that the best and unique equipement is your own style, your creativity, your imagination. No one can take that away from you.

Yeah, forget all this fantom stuff, get a tape recorder and record yourself smacking bins and tables and stuff, that'd be bwad. Ya could do the basslines with a rubber band. Lo-fi studio is go!!!
