one ear in my headphone went out day before yesterday which is killin me. thanks for the recommendations. any suggestions in the 30-$50 range by any chance?

I checked out everyone's suggestions but ended up going with Seoul's. These are very very nice headphone monitors!!! definetely worth the price. guitar center will sell then for 99.99 no tax so checkem out

this was the "industry standard" in the 80s and 90s. i dont if they still are, but i got 2 pair, and i dont use anything else.

like i said, i bought these after reading reviews like "i've owned these for 10 years an will rebuy in a second if they break". these headphones are getting me much closer to my music, making minor tweaks that make a huge difference.

Can someone tell me the advantage of expensive studio monitors over nice headphone monitors? I can't imagine speakers (studio monitors) being better than decent headphone monitors. though i've never heard studio monitors in action so what's up? is it hype??
