a decent soundcard like emu 1212m or a firewire audio interface like m-audio audiophile firewire?? basically my question is is there a big difference between sound cards and audio interfaces?? and that m-audio audiophile is compatible with pro tools m-powered..so i guess im more on m-audio side..

The EMU has better specs. No protools though. PCI might be quicker. Look into it more thats all

get the soundcard u will need it anyway for music production on the pc.
