Well, Steinberg has some cool VST Instruments for CubaseVST. Like "The Grand" One of the best pianos for the PC. Just check Steinbergs product range.

hi,
in my novice production opinion, you should check out sonic syndicate's junglist vst. i think it was designed with a junglist in mind, but beware, cause with a little time you can tweek it how ya want to.
you can plug into fruity loops and logic audio, not sure about cubase or sonar/ect....but it's cool, if you spacy sounds and wierd things going off. check it out, thanx and cheers, jonny:p :headbang:

the native instruments synths are pretty good I think. they may be not geared specifically for hip hop, but there are allot of great sounds in all of them to use. The B4 has some sick organ sounds, and some of the lower pitched sounds can be used as a bass or coupled with another bass part. The FM7 and Pro-5 have some cool lead stuff, similar to the stuff heard on "Show You" by Jigga. Allot of the free synth VST's are really techno (CM101, Rainbow, Triangle, etc), and kinda hard to get into. Steinbergs vst's are also okay, but mine are a little buggy.

i use virtual guitarist and virtual guitarist electric edition for guitars and they're ok. Have you tried plugsound, too? (i think volume 5 -or 3- is specifically made for HH)

wha-? fruity loops is better than cubase sx? you sure?

anyhow, sampletank looks great on paper. sonic foundry has some good demos i have heard, and the Halion instruments are good. all i have heard are demos, so i do not know how well they work.
