What is the best format of WAV?

PCM, Microsoft ADPCM, DVI/IMA ADPMC, ACM Waveform, A/mu-Law Wave?

i'm getting this from CoolEdit's save-format options. always wondered this

i think it varies from project to project,,,but i always use microsoft.

I think PCM and ACM formats are the most commonw .wav formats
