Different strokes for diff't folks. I only get creative at th crib with all my toys at my finger tips. I like to start and damn near finish what I start. I could see where if u travel in and out of town alot u would want something like this. The only thing I actually use that's on my ipod is plugin for my dj software that allows me to leave the booth and still load and mix songs. Great for those much needed restroom breaks or just to walk around the club showing off...lol I remember I damn near got fired chillin' in vip one night djing...owner was like "I don't pay u to ball while at work"....lmao
j, for real, believe what you want but Im not that guy, I don't own stock in anything musical. At the end of the day, the most important things in my life are within yelling distance from me...lol. The hype around Maschine (from my perspective) is an opportunity to give dp HELL. If you go back and look through the threads or be 'particularly' observant, you will find that most (not all) are geared towards a comment that dp made. Sometimes I even initiate it just to get him going. If that isn't enough, look for the things that I make hype or bragg about...you won't find me saying 'anything' is gods gift to production (on a regular basis), thats because I'm very open minded when it comes to gear or anything else for that matter. No matter what it looks like, I promise you that I don't miss any sleep over any hype on the internet. nahmean.

Well thats what i'm sayin..I'm actually defending your statement fam lol..I think you dislike the hype that is perpetuated mostly by DP..DP does come off like certain things are the Holy Grail,which is cool because that his MO IMO.You play devils advoacate which is cool. Really? I try not to, for real. I try and give props to everything even stuff I don't personally use. At any rate, sometimes I get Dac going so much that he has to call me on the phone and give me even more shit. Then we go round and round for like an hour. Its actually all pretty funny.

Thats whats good J...yeah and that ^ was only to throw gas on dp's fire. No I don't hate Maschine or the hype around it. NI is killing the sampling market right now. They are committed to being successful and thats awesome!

Well I feel like I need to expound on my Maschine threads. First off, the hip-hop community has a TERRIBLE reputation in the music retail industry and among product designer like NI. Its really bad. In fact fraud is SO much higher for hip-hop related production devices (MPC's for example) that when someone orders one from Sweetwater they do extra fraud checks. It is almost a joke out there, you get a call that says "I need an MPC overnight, I don't care the cost" yup you will know its fraud.
Anyway, this has caused the entire MI retail industry to kind of back away from the hip-hop community. So when someone like Native Instruments takes a risk on a product for a market that already has a bad rep, they don't need to many reason to kill it off. So I was very outspoken about how great Maschine was because #1 it is completely amazing! and #2 I wanted NI to feel like the hip-hop community appreciated the love. Not many companies are making stuff just for us. So we need to really encourage them when they do.
Would I personally pick Maschine over an MPC/Beatthang/MV? NO QUESTION. But I wont give up Reason for it. Even if Maschine is not right for you, lets give prop to NI for trying to make a great tool for hip-hop producers!
