Da Bomb Squad!

It wasn't one particular beat or song that inspired me. It was the beatz behind Chuck D's lyrics. I was like how in the hell did these guys put all of these samples in one song and make it sound so phat? It was choppy and smooth at the same time and I was infatuated with their music from the get go. Da Bomb Squad is why I make beatz although, my beatz don't sound anything like them. They can't be copied so I leave it alone. I just do what I feel and that's real. Love, Peace and Hairgrease!

the roots. scott storch's "You Got Me" was hip hop the way i always wanted to hear it. to me, its the perfect beat.

real ass track there, didnt know stortch did it, i respect him a lil bit more now

but what made me want to produce was to make my own beats to flow on - i was a rapper 1st, before i started producing

LOL, thats was definately some kind of incentive for me too - simply to make something different from all that stuff on the radio that sounds the same.

It was never really one single beat that got me into hiphop, I've alwasy wanted to create things and express myself. I already played the drums [in a band] and I was listening to a lot of hiphop, and a lot of music from which hiphop derivies [soul, funk, jazz...] so it was sort of a natural progression.

If anything, hearing artists like dj shadow [and loads of other instrumental hiphop artists] for the first time really inspired me - it doesn't have to have an mc or be great for the clubs to be hiphop.

I'm thread-stalking you now.... all this shit talking about sampling....

YET
Dre w/ Chronic.... reinterpreted samples. Yep. All of it
Timbo .... Samples, replayed samples, keyboard samples, carpet samples
Illmatic..... What??? Dude.... like, even the songs sampled on this sampled someone else.
Big..... ok. Whatever.
Mobb Deep..... Jeeze.

I leave you alone now. And I do mean alone.
BTW.... you're still young, yourself. Let's not forget that, poppy.

I was listening to Necro- Gory Days instrumentals...and I was like...yeah I can make beats like that....been doing it ever since....I had no clue what I was getting myself into...now I get headaches and shit from looking at monitors...working all the time...but hey...I enjoy it. I feel different...you know.

And then when I heard MF Doom's beats...then I became addicted to producing.
