This is an hard one as there is quite a few that i like, for here are my main ones that i can think of at the moment.

1. Battlecat - Gumbo Roots
2. Crazy - Please Don't Kill Me (of Murder Inc)
3. L.The Black Robbin Hood - True 2 Life (of Murder Inc)
4. Legend Man - Pressure & Pain (of Murder Inc)
5. Murder Inc - Let's Die Together (the OG Murder Inc not Ja related)
6. Y-D - Give It Up To The G'z
7. Face Forever - World Of Crime

Quite a few from the Murder Inc crew from seeing the list, they put out some classic's from New Orleans in the mid 90's. The release from Legend Man is by far the best, he is one of my favoruite artists of all time, shame he was killed just after it dropped.

Battlecats album is another good one which never got released, and the Y-D is by far one of the tightest albums i've ever heard from out of the bay yet another artist that is no longer alive.

I forgot to mention another rap group from out of N.O called Face Forever which was like a extended family with Murder Inc that not to many people know about that put out some good tracks, check this video out which features Legend Man on the 2nd verse if you have a minute.

i think it did. alot of these we're mainstream at one time. There was a time where the Beatnuts, O.C., Black Moon, etc were on the radio and MTV. It was a good time.

I thought this was an "underground" hip hop thread.

Everyone's but Redrum listed some pretty major releases. Enta Da Stage was major enough to have 2 heavily rotated singles on BET and MTV. Who Got The Props and How Many MC's.

My list:

Aesop Rock: Float
Cannibal Ox: Cold Vein
Society of Invisibles: (self-titled)
Atmosphere: Lucy Ford EP
Deca: The Hedonist

I was thinking that also on a few of the artists listed, i guess some people's underground is deeper than others.
