@Iron Keys @GoldenBoy Are you guys serious? You've been arguing with each other for a few days now. XDDDD
I will try to present my point of view on this matter despite the fact that I didn't even participate in this battle.
With all due respect to you
@Iron Keys I have to say that your "battles for the right voting system" or "right results" (let's call it in this way) become more and more tiring.
Literally, under almost every competition you complain about the results pointing out that you voted for the beats that didn't get either to runner-ups or finals. And despite the fact that this matter was discussed in a separate thread created by
@Fade who as the administrator decided that voting system we have now is the best one you still keep on arguing about the results. I have to agree with
@GoldenBoy no one cares how you vote because the way you perceive music is individual to you. What you consider to be dope will not be dope to someone else.
Such arguments are completely pointless as it is just a waste of energy and time. I remember time when I had an argument with TACTIK and I also assaulted
@Beatmaker88. Why did I do that? Because egocentric Mr Memento Beats was unhappy about the result and that he lost to Beatmaker88. Later on I apologised to him in ILL Battle Report but argument with TACTIK was also pointless and silly.
Why are such arguments pointless?
First of all, these battles are just for points. All you get by winning them are points and some sort of confirmation that you have or may have skills in beatmaking. An ego boost. Nothing else. It should be done for fun and when I recollect how I acted in the situations I mentioned above it was just pathetic and stupid. Besides it's really stupid and funny to some degree when you see two grown man arguing and spending time on discussion about the results of some battles for points.
For real? It's not worth it at all.
Aside from that it stripes the winner down of that little moment of happiness. Because you win and later on you read in the comments "Meh, I voted for a beat that didn't even qualify to be a runner-up. This is stupid. Blah, blah, blah".
Secondly, as I mentioned above everybody has different taste and the fact that you lost or didn't make it doesn't mean that your beat is worse or something. I also don't understand results of some contests here but I don't comment anymore on it as I perceive them only through the prism of my taste and personal feelings. And no one cares what I like or don't like so it's pointless.
Thirdly, you
@Iron Keys points out that you look for sound+feel and that you don't necessarily look for mixing. Why did you complain on Discord about the quality of beats from one of the guys here then? I remember clearly it was in general section of that server and you said "his beats sound as if they were made in the era when sampling was very hard and someone put a tape recorder and recorded sounds from it." Didn't you look for "potential" then? What happened?
You pointed out that
@GoldenBoy beat lost because it was an EDM track. No, it wasn't. It was a trap beat in very modern style and with very clean mix. Btw
@GoldenBoy props to you for that drop at 0:16. It was beatiful in my opinion.
But I also like beat by
@Drago Zetić as it had something in it.
Concluding,
@Iron Keys nobody stops from posting your opinions here as it is a forum and you are allowed to post whatever you want but such comments that you voted for Beatmaker A and complaints about results are really wack. Besides this matter has been discussed numerous times and I'm not the only one who thinks that you really overdo with questioning results as I've seen other members of this forum arguing with you about this topic.
Now, I'm coming back to enjoying my break from beatmaking.
