Hey guys, I have been on hiatus for a bit. Getting back into making beats again. Just wanted to say it is a privilege to beat bang with you guys again as I participated in this easter Warzone. Looking forward to getting back into the stu more often and taking my producer game to that next level from where I was before. I endeavor to learn alot from this community about making beats. But moreso, I want to give back more than I receive (open to hints, lol). It won't be an overnight victory. So I am thinking long term.
The best thing you can do, and this applies to everybody, is to participate, create threads, if you find something interesting that would suit this audience, share it. Comment on threads, try not to just react to posts, leave a comment, encourage discussion. We all had to start this journey at some point, we can build community, share techniques, ideas, just chat and all get to know each other. There are levels of experience here, newer beatmakers can learn just as easily from each other as they can from more seasoned and practiced beatmakers and producers. So dont be scared of taking part, understand that hate is rare here and the feedback is usually fair and constructive. We all have ego's and those ego's are fragile and need a bit of taming, thats where battling is perfect, its a great way to gauge where we are at in relation to others, to learn that yes, our shit does indeed stink. I think our ego's need a good battering in this game otherwise you will be doomed to take constructive criticism as a personal attack, when its only intended to make you a better beat maker.
I see a lot less participation these days and it makes me sad. People post beats for feedback but rarely give any feedback themselves, just give and take in equal measure, dont have to give any more than that. If we all took part in the forum a bit more maybe friendships can be built, ideas can be shared and overall we all end up making much better hip hop, the music we all love and what got us here in the first place. Id just like to see people doing more than just battling and wanting feedback on beats, but thats just me. Recent activity has me worried personally.
