OK here goes...im stumped

what is your method of creating a keyboard melody out of a short sample (such as a piano note) which you took from vynil?

and

does your method allow all the notes to be the same length of the original sample or are the higher notes shorter and the lower notes longer?

and

can someone tell me the difference beween a sample and a patch?

thats all i want to know

cheers

When you sample something at C3, and play a high note, it will play at a higher pitch thus will play for a shorter time than the original sample. Vice-versa for lower key.

A patch is something you load up in your sampler/synth which will change values of different variables to create a specific sound. Patches in synths create its own sound however applying a patch to a sample will use the sample as the base sound and the patch will modify values such as Filter/Resonance to change what it sounds like.

I didn't explain this well coz its pretty late where i am ;\
