turntablelab.com should have it. Also, this is completely about scratchin, but you should pick up the movie "SCRATCH" its like a documentary on hip-hop and turntablism. It might give you some ideas and you can learn some shit off it.

And on the subject of gettin new tables, i started scratchin since before i was makin beats and ive used the belt-drive STR8-50's for 2 years and im still doin fine on them. I only needed to replace the belts once, but it was fine after that. And learning on belt-drives will probly help you be light on the tables when your scratchin, and that will help a lot.
Make whatever decision you want, but stickin with the numarks aint a bad idea imo.
