I'm balling on a budget, any recommendations? I've peeped a few threads, and one that I made before, but videos I've seen, they've always got a whole deck set-up, and it sounds like the USB turntables ain't gonna be man enough for scratching.

But I have been wanting to upgrade to a rane mixer. They have the magnetic crossfaders which dont go bad. Back in my heavy Dj days I would go through like 2 crossfaders a month with my Vestax mixer. Each being $50. That rane mixer is like $800.00
I dont know if you are breathing off of trump budget, but I would get the techs with the rane mixer. You will be happy with that.

can't go wrong with with Technics 1200's and get a mixer with an adjustable curve for the fader.

i aint gonna lie is started on da battle pack joints which were around like $300-400 i think they were numark, but if you got like $600 you really should try gettin some technics off ebay atleast
when it comes to scratching they are pretty much the only decks your gonna want to use anything else below the price range isn't gonna do you any good except if your just startin and doin baby scratches.
but ebay should have some cheap techs I've seen a single deck go for as low as $250 sometimes, it just depends on how patient and determined u are to get quality gear.
