i agree that most people get the triton or fantom based on marketing or because they saw that "timbaland uses it"..i was one of them. when i was getting my fantom, i told the man at the store that i wanted some nice realistic piano sounds. the retail guy then laughed and said..."well, if you just want a piano sound, then no need to spend thousands buying a fantom"
i got it in the end when i saw all it coudl do, but yes its all about the parameters and fx..things that many wont even bother trying to get to grips with what such a powerfull tool is all about.
being tripped by the fact that "timbaland uses the triton" is quite stupid...cos he'll just have an engineer with all the knowledge about the tritons ins and outs and he just saying he likes this and that.
i am know trying to learn to use the fantom properly for what its worth.
