Torn between gear

I'm stuck I want to pick up a DAW but Im torn between which one to pick up.

Right now I'm looking at A

AKAI DPS24
Roland VS2400
KORG D32XD
Yamaha AW4416

I'm seriously leaning toward the Yamaha becaause of the expandibility and the waves option. *I love waves*. The Roland is also appealing because of the COSM effects. The DPS has all the cool stuff built in talkback mic, computer patability, foldback mixing, *Cool*. not to mention I'm buying a MPC. I'm still looking for the korg's gimmick it doesnt seem to have one, but it is a lil decieving you have to buy a second set of inputs to fully utilize this thing. So right now Its like:
1= Yamaha 2=Roland 3=AKAI 4=korg If any body has any feedback or suggestions please let me know.

By the way my set up will consist of a MPC 1000= out's*2 sterio* (yes, I ment to say 1000), a ASR 10 rack 8 outs *4sterio*, a yamaha So3, A PC, A Rode Nt1, a Rhoads or Ep, a Electronic piano a Bass.and hopefully a few modules. oh and Some turn tables down the line. plus It would be nice to have a dedicated channel for my home boy to come and plug his laptop in on ocasion. (he rocks software).

I want to be able to record mix edit master and burn in one unit and do it nicley w/ an extreamly professinal sound.

thanks for your time

OX.

I had a roland daw and I don't like them. Idon't know too much about the yamaha. But when I was doing research a while back I liked the Akai dps24. To me the most important thing is being able to convert my audio in .wav files so its compatible with protools. for the price of one of those daw's you can get protools.

True But I'm not looking for protools. I'm looking for a DAW. Thanks for the information tho. BTW do you know if the DPS has a mastering suite. and if the Cd burner that comes w/ it can back up sessions??

I like the ROLAND and the KORG, both of them are killer DAW's in my opinion. I have a ROLAND and the BIG studio that I do some work at has the KORG. I too like working with wav files and I am convinced that ROLAND and KORG are exceptional for wav files...let us know which you choose. I also use ProTools, I havent seen very many good reviews here on it but I love my ProTools. Most say that it cost too much but I am one of those cats that believe you get what you pay for, no matter what the cost is.

One more thing, thats a nice setup that youre putting together there.

Right now I'm really impresed by the Akai This might be the one I choose.

*just fyi* My homeboy (the one w/ the lap top) Will soon be rocking a Mbox w/ that lil laptop. The plan is or me to set up a Hardware suite and him to set up a software one that way we cover both angles. He loves recording and producing on computers I hate it (Started on a ASR 10 and a DPS 16) I like to rock the real shit. He is moving to my apartment complex in a month or 2 *the same building* shoud be ill. I already built a vocal booth in my apt. he will follow suit. so well have 2 almost twin setups other than the hardware software thing. He"ll be all software exept the vilyl. but he rocks Fruity Reason Orion and all that shit. hes nice too. MD is done when he gets here.

Just to keep everybody informed I went a head and held off on the digital recorder. I think maybe next year I'll cop one. I can still record on my computer and get nice results. I am going to cop a Maudio 1010 tho. that'll give me my 8 ins. I'm also going to hold off on the MPC 1000 new gear=bugs so I'm gonna focus on rockin my asr. and stack my $$. Speaking of my ASR I'm looking to trade it in on a ASR 10 keydoard if anyone is interested. Its the rack version and it has everything. Cd rom SCSI ZIP 2gig hard drive 8 outs mem upgrade digitalout.

alright yall peace.
