Yeah man I hear that, less is more with reverb. Its a lot like womens makeup. A common bit of advice I hear a lot is, dial in the reverb so it sounds good, then roll it back a little bit.

Tomblr - "Fighting Darkness"

Not my style to be honest. I think that this piano melody, vocals that appear at 0:35 til chorus and bass you used have the biggest potential here. Drums sound dry but contrary to @2GooD Productions opinion I would change those samples completely as I don't think that adding reverb would make any difference here. Hihats sound good to me but I would replace kick drum and snare. Also I'm not a fan of that melody that this lady sings in the chorus. As I mentioned in the beginning, not my cup of tea. But that's just my two cents.
