Well I was reading an article the other day about Tidal and it wasn't good. Basically they were saying that it's NOT good for the artists and is basically just a money-making venture for JayZ and his crew.

Also, since there's no free option, it would be tough for them to compete with Spotify. $10/month is one thing, but he's also got $20/month which I can't see many people going for.

Some good points about Tidal: http://www.businessinsider.com/lily...-site-tidal-will-turn-people-to-piracy-2015-4

If you think about it - do you think fans will pay to get that exclusive content? Or go download it on a torrent site?

I understand the music industry is having a tough time with all the piracy and all that, so they're trying all these different things. But they have to start thinking like a consumer first.

I pay for streaming through google play and I am an Audiophile....That said, I am not down to pay 20 a month to have hi res streaming. The music I stream is played back on my earbuds at work, my car, or my bose mini. Those are hardly systems that really need to have hi res files to be enjoyed. The only way I can see this thing taking off is if the artists that he is aligning with decide to take their music off other streaming sites and just use his streaming site exclusively. I heard that Reasonable Doubt is already gone from spotify.

Jay-Z seems really out of touch on this one though. Fans do not care if the artist is being paid fairly, thats why so many of them steal music to begin with. I cant see people doubling their monthly streaming bill just to have hi res files. If they lower the price to 12 and have the same variety as google play I would sub.
