The OTHER side of GUNS...

Guns didn't seem to be a very popular subject around here a couple of months ago and I'm NOT trying to revisit "the purpose of a gun". I am curious to know if I'm the only person around ILL that enjoys going to the target range, hunting and competition shooting?

I recently competed (for the first time) and I really enjoyed it. I didn't place in the top half of the field but I still had fun, plus these guys were VERY good (mostly pro shooters and cops). Anyway, the scenarios were mad fun.

I also enjoy hunting. I geared up for hunting about 2 yrs ago and I avg. 3-4 trips per year. I dont care too much about being in the cold but it's just a part of the game. Eventually I'd like to hunt outside the U.S. for big game.

The Range is cool but it's loud as HELL indoors when someone brings a high powered rifle. It takes me a long time to adjust to the indoor bang of a .223 or higher cal (anyone that has experienced this knows what I'm talking about...that ish is chronic...to say the least).

My favorite weapons...(Springfield Armory) SA-XD - 9mm
(Springfield Armory) XD-M - 40 cal.
(Smith & Wesson) 22A-1 - 22LR
(Beretta) CX-4 - 40 cal.

Guns are frowned upon here in the uk, but I have always loved shooting the air rifle.
I really enjoy shooting and Im pretty good at it too.
Id love to go shooting properly on the range.

I have a fully automatic mp5 a3 plastic bb gun, not as good as my old air gun but fun in the house.
Especially since I added my diy laser, lol
I cant see anything wrong with shooting for sport.

No doubt, when I first heard that shooting was a great way to relieve stress I honestly didnt believe it but, it really is...After I'm finished at the range I actually feel relieved. It's like taking a load off my mind. I recommend it highly.

this is a pic of mine...it looks like the one on the bottom...but has the barrel of the top model. I added a sling and elastic shotshell holders on the stock. Its looking gangsta. lol

I LOVE guns!
There is no better way to relax than going target shooting!
Amo is stupid expensive though when all they do is sweep up shell caseings and repack em....

Yeah when I purchased it a Dicks Sporting Goods, I got it for $215 tax included...that was cheaper than anywhere on the net....a nice quality shotgun for cheap is always good. I wanna get a 30/06 with a scope or an AR-15 with infrared.

theres so much game runnin bout all over, moose, caribou, birds, bears, etc etc...
if you could rake in your food by going out and gettin it fresh, i'm tellin you theres no better way to do it.
usually if you're gonna be goin out for the bigger game, a 3006 or a 3030 is nice to have.. then you need somethin lil like a .22 for ptarmigans, and spruce chickens. maybe a shotgun for geese/ducks
damn yall i'm tellin you though, shootin for sport is one thing, but when you've got some badass meat stocked in your freezer after you go shooting it brings a whole new perspective
it aint just something to enjoy, it'll feed a whole family!
