What up Illfam,
So yeah, great time of year, you know Summer is on it's way once Yankees Red Sox starts up.
Regarding "BIGGEST CHOKE JOB IN SPORTS HISTORY'' two words:
Billy Buckner, nuff said. that is choking. Yankees lost four in a row, Mariano couldn't finish the job, cest la vie. Yankees are still the dynasty, greatest team in the history of professional sports.
Regarding this series, I was at the stadium on Wednesday and Thursday. Tuesday's game was nothing special, windy, Yanks made some errors, they knew they lost the game and stopped giving a fuck. Whether it's 14-3 or 14-10 it's still a loss, so fuck it.
Wednesday was incredible, seeing the Giambi/Posada home runs were amazing. A-Rod timed his shot perfectly too, although I still see him as a choker when the pressure's on.
Thursday's game was intense, I thought it would only go 5 innings due to the rain, but it never really came down that hard. Yanks ran out of steam and lost. One play fucked everything up for the Yanks, when Jeter threw to first and Cairo couldn't hold on to the ball. Still great fielding with Bubba and Damon, and yeah, I'll say it a million times - "Thanks for the centerfielder!"
Finally, some super hilarious shit that could be a thread of it's own:
Thursday night these four kids come and sit in front of us in the 6th, one of them is wearing a Yankees hat and cheering everytime Boston makes a play (also criticizing the Yanks). I was pretty trashed, so I'm saying, "what's your deal? You a Boston fan wearing a Yankee's hat?". Kid says - "yeah, that's right". I was kind of in shock, and kind of appalled, so i started yelling at the kid, screaming at him that he's a fraud, telling the crowd that we had an undercover Boston fan in our midst. Girl next to me was a little freaked, so I chilled out. Went on to have a few more beers, then I realized, fuck it, this shit is comedy, like some Andy Milonakis or Tom Green, funny shit. Just doing shit that you know will piss people off. So anyway, ended up chilling out, even took some pictures of these four dudes, they were obviously not New Yorkers and were happy to be at Yankee Stadium for the first time.
So yeah, gonna just ease into this, fifteen more Yankees/RedSox regular season games. It's gonna be another war, long and real. Looking forward!
Let's go YANKEES.
