danm, this album came out of nowhere.... i havent heard anything about it at all... but its a dope album. there really isnt a weak track or verse to be heard on the whole thing. even the skits seem to be thoughtfully done.

its also a very cohesive album, a rarity these days. its just a hip hop album.... and this dude, sy scott is nice as well... he's on a few albums. a few hooks could be redone, but really it feels like a 96-97 throwback album...

i suggest you buy this album if you dig boom bap, straight underground-without-being-too-abstract hip hop, which is my personal favorite style. dont download it either, jerks. do e a favor and buy it!

i give it a 5 star rating, not because its a classic-i dont think it is, but it is a damn good album and its solid all the way through without skipping through a million different styles and collaberations. these days, thats more than enough to warrant praise for me.

Yo I always been down with The Double E, Parish, and the team but I was sleeping on this album til Truth brought it up. Thanks dog... You can listen to the whole album streamed on BET.com Then I copped it yesterday...shit is hot...
And about Sean Paul...I never really listened to him, but it is really more just like a sample of him on that one track... He doesn't really do much on it... And of course we got guest spots from other Def Jam fav's like The funkdoctor spock and Keith Murray...

gangstar (at least guru) IS average. below average in my boook. the man was just blessed with the most innovative producer of the era.

as far as erick sermon.... the man is nice and consistant to me. i think he holds a much underated place in hip hop. and that sean paul track is just plain dope. that was a great sample.

Oh come on guys, everyone's taste in music differs, as has been established on this forum many times... No need to start beefin 'bout the Green Eyed Bandit and sayin who is mediocre... I think the point of this thread is to bring the album to the attention of people that like Eric Sermon, like me. I was sleeping on the album and now I copped it, point of thread accomplished, personally I don't really care what you think about the E double and those EPMD blasphemies will just have to remain unaddressed... and the Guru mentions, not those either, but to each their own...

Ayn Rand? you read the book?

Not yet, just one of hundreds I own and am planning to read. I just got like five others going at the moment...but you obviously thought it was good...read any of her others?
Not to get off subject that is...
And you're right, I guess it would be better termed as sarcasm...

First of all EPMD was one of the most influential east coast funk/hip hop groups ever created. They put on Keith Murray (average) and the funkdocta himself. SO anyone who says EPMD is "aight" needs to get thier head checked. They are up there with Public enemy krs gangstarr wutang to name a more contemporary group. This aint no das efx average shit. Word up! I copped that Chilltown Newyork bootleg today. Cant wait to bump that shit when I gets outta werk jerk!

Gotta agree with everything you said except this, I wouldn't call Das EFX average. I'd say their flow is pretty original. Feel free to cop the bootleg if you want but I'd say help the Green eyed bandit out if you can spare some loot...he deserves it...
