We wake up hearen a song on the radio, hearing the song, it makes us wanna get up outta bed and make a song that tops it. Through the day you make some tight shit that you go back to an hour later and realize that it isn't as tight as you thought it was. People give props to what u know in your heart you really can't take credit for because you know that God gave you the talent to make muZik and not by any other way. You go to bed hoping that someone one day will hear your expression and bob their head. That's what makes you happy...and that's what makes sleeping so easy and yet so hard.

What's your definition of a life of a producer?

you described the experience pretty well.

For me at the moment I still have a lot to learn, my life of a producer is like this;

wake-up,
play some cds,
listen to the production on these cds,
think damn, I can make stuff just as fresh as most of this stuff,
sit down make a beat,
after a while make a dope beat I'm happy with,
decide to make another beat but this time things don't come easily,
think fuk this, I need an MPC, Triton, Motif, new software, and more stuff to make beats like I want to,
get frustrated,
then after a while realise that I have to try to get the most from what I have,
keep making beats and hope for the best.

I guess we've all got to go through some struggles and breaktroughs to really succeed.

peace

yeah golden I feel you some days are golden and some days are garbage. On the garbage days I try and go back to projects I half started and didn't have the direction to finish...

I get pissed sometimes and want to dump everything but then I will play one old joint of mine and listen to a whack beat a famous producer made and be like not all your beats got to be bangers...

I go through the software stage... all of us have shitty software or toggle with the software hardware question that is an ongoing war... or want to upgrade just to feel better about yourself or commitment to making good music

the originality stuff...

another problem is other people getting in your way...like you boy wanting to come over to play xbox when you know you got a serious beat you got playing in your head...

a bitch....god forbid you got a girl and wanna just focus alll your energy and effort into beatmaking or music in general... I stay single cuz I can't put up with the relationship mess...

my friends are the worst cuz they all wanna come over to my spot to burn trees cuz I live in a cool azz area and can blaze all I want in my crib...

I even done shit like noit answer my door or phone just to get work done... then work gets in my way.... having a full time job sucks but you know you need the stable bread to get the money for new equipment records or whatever...

or you got a nigga who wanna spit like 1,000 bars over all your beats and everytimehe see you he got a new rhyme to spit but you don't got a new beat for him because you been trying to perfect another one or chop samples up to add to it...

that's how my life is....

I'm really feeling you on that one...I've dumped 5 girls after 14-30 days within the last year or so. I started of by telling them that I was interested in them too but that they had to accept that making beats would be a priority for me but that any spare time would be dedictated to them...they all agreed that they could live with it and after 14-30 days they were bitching about it...sucks.

i feel you guys on this one. i have managed to juggle a full time job, a girlfriend, and church for quite sometime now and there are days i put everything aside just so i can make a track... its crazy hard to maintain tho... the worst, however, is when a women comes between you and your partner... that sucks. my friend fell in love a while back, and well, he's been ghost ever since! he aint even with her anymore! but now its other things- parties, video games, or just plain lazyness. he's on this sight too- probably wont be happy with me saying that! oh well. i think the life of a producer can almost always be summed up by their personal relationships!!!!

a henobeat... what's your style? i live in hemet (riverside county..) always looking for a potential connection!

by the way... my girlfriend told me to write that she is cool... she is actually very supportive!!! im blessed there..... ihope you guys are able to manage better!!!

Life as a producer is difficult at times. Mostly for me its hard to find real peeps to work with or connect with. MC's come a dime a dozen and everyone wants to rap these days. But no one around my way really understands the hard work and dedication that involves putting out muzik, let alone good muzik. I've been really fortunate to come up on some phat equipment, but what I've realised is that it is not what you have but how you use it. I'm a full time student, a part time boyfriend, and a pot head. My motivation level is just not there. I mean I really love music and I can beat box and hum some dope basslines along with sound effects. But when I step up to my triton or 505 I can't get the beats to sound the way I humm them. The only thing thats keeps me interested is the fact that I have made some dope beats that when compared to shit out there, and there is alot of shit, they slam. Especially the rythms and melodies. I like to due stuff that sets my production aside from what I've heard being done. I think my biggest problem is that I don't ahere to the saying that "practice makes perfect" or shall I say that "perfect practice makes perfect".
