I find it crazy that the 1200's maximum single sample was 2.5 seconds for a total of over 10 seconds, and the beats made with that unit are one of a kind.
It really makes you realize how lucky we are to have stuff that is so far ahead of those old units.
On one hand, having such a limited piece of gear makes one have to think outside the box and become extremely creative, but I'm sure it was also a pain the ass.
