I'm waitin for the movie lol...Those books are long and I just don't have the time or interest in readin em. they seem real interesting though. I've wanted to read em both, just never actually went through with it.

I was watching either A&E or Discovery and aparently all this shit in the books is fake. Just made up bullshit, but written so well that people believe it to be truth. They basically discredited everything Dan Brown wrote in the special.

Dan Brown's a great writer
I dont think he's a great author... the book is good enough for a good, very good read... but what interesting in the book is not the way he wrote, but the way everything is portrayed...

And the fact that most of the book's info comes from research on real artifacts and locations...

I read it and liked it a lot....

Two years. And you're halfway.

That book has 454 pages.

That's 0.62191780821917808219178082191781 pages per day... lets just say 1 page, rounding up in your favor.

I'm trying to finish The Da Vinci code right now, b4 the movie hits... I sure I will though cause it's one of those books that keeps you in suspense..plus the chapters are short so you keep on reading to get to the next part, then you find out some other sick historical facts or a twist in the story and you read some more.. great book... I heard from friends that Angels and Demons is good too.

I thought Angels and Demons was a hundred times better than the Da Vinci code.

I read Angels and Demons first and after hearing the hype about Da Vinci Code, decided to check it out. There is no comparison. Angels and Demons hands down is a better book.

My favorite part is the transistion from Angels and Demons into Da Vinci Code. The events that happened in Angels and Demons are so gigantic in scope, yet Da Vinci Code starts off as if its any other day.

I've never understood why people have taken the time to discount the accuracy of the book, it's a work of fiction!

I was about to read the book because it sounded fascinating, especially since it was supposedly based on actual facts, but then I watched a a program over here which basically disproved every 'fact' in the book. So I gave it a miss....it's probably a good read just as a fictional novel anyway, but it just doesn't seem worth it anymore.

Lex, actually I'm a history major and lots of the facts Dan Brown talks about are real such as the formation of the Knights of Templar, the conquering of Jerusalem, and the issued papal bulls. Many hard facts he writes about are correct, but how people interpret why those things happened is another thing.

I think people like to argue on the accuracy of many of the books facets because people like to be right. They like to think they the "truth"... when there are many perspectives on a single event that contributes to the "truth"...ask Native Americans about Custer's last stand and they would say something completely different from what the avg. W.A.S.P. U.S. history books say

the book doesnt claim to be real in the first place, matter of fact on the cover it says ''A NOVEL'' not to mention the authors explanation that the book is phixion in the first few pages, i dunno why people wouldtry to discredit the book for not being acurate. books dont have to be real to be good

The length to which people went to discredit a work of fiction kind of makes me raise my eyebrows.

Yes, I think everyone knows the book is fiction... but just cause the book is fiction it doesn't mean everything in it is false and just made up. Dan Brown used many factual events and intertwined them in a manner that would make it interesting. Its up to the reader to decide what they get out of the reading. Readers can think that it's all made up and read it for fun, they can believe it as a set of conspiracy theories, or they think that some of it's fact and some of its false. I was pointing out that there were secret societies such as the Knights Templar and Godfrey of Boullion did conquer Jerusalem, etc. Again, lots of his book was based on facts, but facts are twisted around to create hypothetical situations. Most historians hate when history is distorted by books, movies, etc., but I don't care since it's ment to be an interesting book.
