Just thought I'd share this with anyone thats interested. I just saw DJ Skully (has worked with Canibus, Celph Titled, Jehst, etc) do a set in a local record shop and it was off the chain. He was doin' a routine cuttin' up the beats of 'I can' and he was doin' mad scratchin' over Royces 'My friend' and dammit....he really flipped it up a level when he was cuttin' and scratchin' that new Sean Paul song...it was prolly the dopest set I've since I saw the Scratch Pervets perform at the B-Boy Championships in 2000 (I think that was the date).
Anyways...has anyone else ever really seen an awe inspiring peice of DJing live that made them think...DAYUM!?

I've seen DJ Noise (2 x world champion) from Denmark several times now...apart from one set he always makes dope ass sets. Also, I saw this danish duo once doing a whole set of mad power scratching...it was too dope and the cuts and beats they had chosen were also awesome.

Last year, I had the pleasure of checkin' out ?uestlove on the 1s on 2s at the House of Blues here in the N.O. He was strictly blending but the brother is ill. I believe that his tour was called "The Lesson- Part I." It was funny to see all the 'new' hip-hop headz get all hyped when ?uest spun a sample they recognized but then realized it wasn't the cut they had been hearing on the radio but the original... to their disappoinment... hence The Lesson. He spun for about 4 hrs.; the first hour or so being 'class in session' where he laid down the originals to all the commercial hits of that time(late 2002) and even some of the originals sampled by bangers from the 90s era. After that he pretty much took you from the 80s to the present with, believe it or not, one of the weirdest yet smoothest blends into Nirvana's "Teen Spirit" somewhere in the middle. I can't wait to peep out the second installment. Anyone else check out that tour?

DJ Skully is sick, I heard him on a 1xtra thing a while ago and he was so good. I saw DJ IQ on the decks for Jehst and he was amazing. He is only 16 or 17 and he did this amazing beat juggling thing to the Grindin beat.

I saw J-Live in concert, doin' the illest thing i'd ever seen. He broke into "Braggin' Writes" and stepped behind the turntables and recreated the entire song, complete with scratching. I'd never seen an emcee cutting up AND flowing at the same time.

Blew my brain out...
