I dont think the word should be used period. Even though i slip up and use it sometimes "even on this forum and there is no excuse why i do and i never will again"

It makes me unconterable when anybody uses that word but it espically makes me bitter when someone outside my race uses it.

Ive noticed the further up north you go the more it is used by other people. Cuban's (black or white) or other races wouldent dare use that word down in Florida. But the futher up i have moved the more i have seen other races and ethincies use it freely. I think its becasue it dosetn have the stigma that it has in the south and because of the history of oppersion in our region.

Same here .... I also grew up around a predominant black community .... most of all my friends are black. If I was to ever say the "N" word they wouldn't do anything to me but I know my place and my boundaries so I never cross it. I respect my friends and even if they accepted me saying it, I still wouldn't. I have a couple a white friends that use it around my black friends and it always makes me uncomfortable. I didn’t agree with everything u said gureva but this stament is the truth and I touched a chourd . This is also a dividing line between social and ecomic favoritism within our own race. Not many people out side the black community know this ,so yall are in for a treat.

Being African American is the bottom of the totem pole as far as Black people world wide. Afican's ,Caribbean’s, Afro Cubans etc... all look down upon us because of the stereotypes that are perpetuated threw our communities. They also feel they are better than us because of there culture identity. Many of them feel that we are lazy and don’t take the opportunities that are given to us living in the U.S, Basically they have the same sterotypical view of black americnas that many whites have had in the past.
There has been many times when Africans he treated me worse than white people.

I think it comes down to what guevara said. When your black in american you have no history. My gov name is Jason minnis. Minnis was the last name of my family's scottish slave masters in the 1800's thats as far back as I can go. I have no homeland or identity. So in an essance im lost. This is the problem that faces blacks today. This has a deep effect on man of the social issues that effects the black community today(i.e crime, drugs,murder,etc…)

The main point………
African Americans culture are the most copied culture in the word. I think when people say the word n-word they are just copying us like everything else(culture, cloths etc). Im sorry man, but a Puerto Rican ,domican, or whoever, does not know the meaning and force of that word(even native African peoples don’t).That is a word that only a Black American can relate to…. I don’t care who they grew up around or what “hood” they are from.
