tempo vs bpm

what's the difference? if my tempo is at 80 than is that a bpm of 80? is it the same thing. is there a way to tell the tempo of a bpm.

BPM means beats per minute, which is how the tempo is measured, well on computers anyway. So yeah they are the same thing mate.
