if you got it like that, but there are cheaper altentantives, also you should only focus on one peice of gear at one time.

i see u got the Motif in there, but if your spending that kind of money, why not go for the ES? it will be a better investment in the long run.

yeah no doubt.. you really should focus on one piece of equipment at a time and it will take years to learn to the level you'll need to be for most people. DS How long have you been making beats?

i agree, stick with FL, get the maudio midi, and the soundcard, and the turntable, that is enough right there to bang out some serious beats, then expand later, take the rest of the money and if you sample, buy a shit load of records, if not then buy some plug ins

Ur missing the point u cant look to others for setups, u gotta find what what fits u man, its not about whats fancy its about what works for u, i know cats with 10,000 setups who make garabage, i know cats on this forum with reason and a couple of VST's that are better then pro's. Point being ur talent and ur knowlege of ur setup is whats gonna get u hot beats no buying expensive gear.....

Yeah, class makes a good point. Starting out you might feel like "Man, only if I had this or that my beats would be banging" but that's not the case. After a while you might notice that you might need some new stuff, like me for example...I've done this for almost a year and I haven't bought ANY equipment. I stole it...

hah, just kidding, but I haven't really bought anything except new Computer speakers for like 60$ :p

But I mean sure, if you wanna buy a MPC go ahead. But if you're gonna use it as a controller, or use it to punch some drums it will not be worth it.

Its great your buying all this gear and im sure it'll beef up your mix, but people like me and others are still makin hot beats with a compaq and piano roll.

Its all about the internet- my sound comes from VST's, soundfonts, VST effects, sampletank for drums, all these are free on the net. Hell even my version of FL 6 was free.
Only thing Ive bought was some killer VST strings and a bunch of hot drum samples

Am I cheap?

Yea I know cats who would buy tons of equipment, then call me the next day, like "Yo Hypno, show me how to use this shit!!!"

I'd figure it out in 10 minutes, make a beat and they'd be like "That's a hot beat, can I have it?"

I'd of course say "Nope" and save it on my shit and delete it from their memory.

Am I wrong? :D

I agree that you should get one thing at a time, but if you say you've used it at another studio, then by all means... But don't start posting all these troubleshooting questions like "Yo I can't get my shit to work" and "How do I set this shit up?" and "Damn, FL Studio is sick, I shoulda just got that first."

Don't take my post as condescending tho... I've just seen this sort of thing happen a thousand times. There were at least 10 cases where someone bought some new shit and half or all of it would stay in the box for weeks, then months, then years, until they find out they didn't have the drive to learn the shit they bought, although the motivation to make beats was there. The simpler, the better. And when you know software in and out, THEN you should start getting what you KNOW will help you.

Nah mean?
