I agree, me too, that internet thuggery is for 12yr olds, but that doesnt apply to anything here. we're laughin now... but this can easily become a form of sampling, and we see where that went.. he might be an asshole to us, and i hope he loses, but if he wins, the money will be ridiculous.. it'll be the sampling laws all over again.

After the whole bickering thing.... Here is my take on the entire situation:

That's like someone stole his preset and said it was theirs...lmao.... If T-Pain wins.....this would be the biggest travesty in music since some samplebank company took the rights to the amen break....
T-pain...no talent? Nah..the dude is definitely talented....he may not be able to sing well...but the dude is definitely talented........it takes talent to make the hits he was part of... The guy is fucking epic on hooks... I think the guy can actually rap a bit...... I liked him in the welcome to my hood remix...the dude definitely has a good flow..... I would rather listen to this dude rap than some of these underground artists that a lot of people think are fucking great..... But that's just personal preference...

I wouldn't buy a t-pain album if they had it for a penny.... Let that be known, though.
I love illmuzik....it's community is awesome...I check iLL more than I check my email....... I do notice the "purist" mentality here sometimes (not anyone in particular, but a lot of the atmosphere tends to go that way at times). I love the boom bap like crazy...nothing like a hard ass boom bap beat...especially like the joints you hear from Ex n Stress...I really enjoy those records.....
I would like to add that what was great and mainstream (because that's how we grew up to those records) is no longer... We have become our parents in that aspect because we scrutinize today's artists and scour at the records they put out......the heart doesn't seem like it's there because the struggle is not portrayed anymore.....the creative control has been stripped from these artists who choose the mainstream route.
I mentioned this in another thread......(and I hate to use the example of Ex and loubez), these heated discussions is why hip-hop won't be #1 in the world.....we need some U.N.I.T.Y.

Had Loubez expressed his opinion in a courteous and thoughtful manner, none of that would have happened. I'll say it again: he started it and as a mod I should have warned him earlier. Case closed.
Spoken like a true diplomat, I agree entirely. T-Pain although hes an arse for even trying this shit, he does have talent, even if its not singing or rapping, he definitely changed the game, for good or for bad, thats really irrelevant, it takes some doing to change the whole sound of a genre, or even two for that matter, if you include rnb with hip hop as a different genre which it has always been to me.
And yes we need some unity.
