As with the music business, the bigger software companies are probably going to end up buying many of the smaller companies until there's only a few very big ones...who end up being so big that they can't adjust to people's needs etc...

Its sad...

Damn. I dont know what to think about that. Adobe's a good company tho but I dont know what they want with syntrillium. Hopefully they dont fuck Cool Edit up! I think something big is gonna happen tho. I dont know what but first Avid buys Protools (well that was a while ago), then Apple buys Emagic, Then Pinnacle buys Steinberg, Then Sony buys Sonic Foundry, now Adobe buys Syntrillium? WTF is going on. The only major sequencer left is Cakewalk. I wonder who will buy them.

the next cool edit will probably be much more expensive and feature video cutting and other features that are completely useless to people like me. we still have to pay the extra price. things aren´t looking good right now and in 10 years there will only be consortiums and monopolies left.
what i am afraid of is that the new softwares all contain so many addons and come with all kinds of new features, but the most important small things are missing. In FL Studio they got rid of so many usefull shortcuts and features, but added all kinds of new Virtual Instruments and effects. For someone who only uses it as a sequencer this is a pain in the ass. cep pro 3 will probably be able to import jpg and stuff. haha, too much pessimism - life goes on

I'm kinda worried as far as wave editors go. SoundForge got bought out by Sony and now Cool edit by Adobe. Wavelab is owned by Pinnacle now. Those are all the best wave editors. They better not turn them into some type of wack half wave editor half video editor and take features out. For sequencing I'm not really that worried I guess because Cakewalk is still independent and theres some new sequencers that are dope. Like Tracktion for example. Fuck it i dont know whats going on but if they fuck up the gear I use i'll be heated.

Apple had bought fruity loops a couple of weeks ago and named it "fruity apple". But they had no intentions of keeping it so that they sold it to some other company today.
According to reliable sources the new company has signed a distribution deal with several supermarkets that will make at least the boxed version available to more people. For further information click here .

beatoff, do you also know that it will only run on their navigation system? "garage music" gets a completely new meaning! clutch, brake and gas pedal will be velocity sensitive touchpads, by shifting gears you can choose different patterns and the steering wheel can send midi data to any parameter you want to controll.

I'm an Adobe user. I currently use Photoshop, GoLive, and LiveMotion 2 for web design.

I have always wondered if Adobe would ever make a audio app. Their currents apps are some of the best designs for functionality, you can do wrong with Photoshop, the program seems to have no limts to what you can do with graphics.

I suspect that they will be a force to be reckon with, due to the detail they put in their programs already.

Can't wait!!!!!!
