Just wondering if its possible to have a sustain pedal on a midi rig send out note data. What im trying to do is program a sustain pedal to play a kick drum in reason. I dont own a pedal yet so im holding off on buying one until I know for sure I can make it work. Oh and I use an m-audio radium 49 and emu xboard 25 if that matters...

i know its possible i saw once a video on youtube where a dude was using one but dont ask me how the fuck thats beyond my knowledge.

The only thing I only know a sustain pedal is used for is to hold the notes for a period of time until released... i duno about setting it up as a "kick" ... but I know some hardware you can set it to use as a kick..... im not too sure about software....
A better question may be, who here owns and uses pedals with their hardware/software.
I dont know the answer to the above question but I have seen pedals used with turntables and scratchin and thats really cool. I know my mpc has a pedal input.. it seems cool...

tannerc , am not really sure if a pedal sends out note data, i think it sends only sustain info, but not actually hitting the note. so i dont think reason can do what you want it to do.
