Just my observation, may be wrong. I'm open to that. I'm pretty certain over seas (Europe and Japan mainly) that underground hiphop has a bigger day to day impact and voice. Not that it's the main thing, but I feel like it is represented better than in the U.S. It seems like Canada also is heavily underground hiphop influenced. Is that the case?

Every US underground act ive seen or spoken, that tours Europe state the same thing, they feel they're much more appreciated abroad then in the US.

Hip-hop in Canada has always been pretty low key. Lots of sleeper hits, but not a big audience.
