Glad to meet everyone, making beats all the way from Wichita Kansas but originally from NYC so why the hell am I out here out of all places? for a better living for my kids and its fricking cheaper and I get to live the american dream. My wife is originally from Kansas thats why I picked to live out here. Anyway, no drum machine bangers in these parts that spark any kind of movement but this is where I step in. Currently waiting for a newer macbook to hook up my Maschine MK3 and start showcasing my talent and posting beats. Can't wait to rock it! Lets do this

welcome man, i got a tip for saving money : Dont buy a drum machine or whatever they call it. the 4x4 buttons on one device thing.
i don't have that and i made some of the most awesome beats ever. many disagree with me, but in my opinion no gear is necessary in the first 2 years (at least)
. besides the basic stuff like a pc and a speaker or a headphone.

That's what I thought until about a year ago. Sure, you can click everything in, but pads get beats going quite a bit faster.
I have pads on my keyboard/midi controller, never use them, I always program my drums into reason redrum
well we all got a specialization. the stronger side. my spec is synth beats, besides that im really good at digging so i dont need to tweak my samples a lot. on the other hand though, i don't always make the most of my samples. thats why i need a midi controller and not maschine

You're only saying this because it's what you learned on. I've tried both hardware only and software only, and trust me, hardware is much more fun. Software is great for the features, but after awhile I get so tired of using the mouse. There's a lot of people in the past few years that want to get away from the computer for beatmaking. This is why you see a lot of new stuff out that's hybrid like MPC X, Pioneer Toraiz, etc.
You know I've been playing drum machines for bout 15 years and I just love the feeling of the pads. I started with the Boss DR770, the the DR880, then right onto Maschine. I've had all their generations but i really like the MK3 a lot which I finally have now. Man so sorry for this late reply. I'm a working man during the day and a family man at night. I did receive my MK3 a couple of weeks ago and have been an avid user of the Maschine platform. I have a few videos posted on Youtube but haven't posted in quite some time. I do love to play live finger drumming but I can also sequence as well. I am starting to get more involved on this site which will inspire me more to rock beats all day. Can we post videos of ourselves on this forum finger drumming?
