For years my PC ran very loudly and I know it's a combination of the case fans and hard drives, etc. but the other day I bought a new power supply - what a difference! I didn't even think of the PS as having a loud fan, but for me it seemed to be the main culprit.

When I would record with my microphone I could always hear the background noise from the computer fans but now it's much much less.

So to anyone looking to quiet your computer, it could be something as simple as a new power supply.

Anyone with other studio quieting tips?

i prefer a dynamic mic over a condenser mic in less than ideal environments like our home studios. condensers pick up everything, good and bad.
that type of dynamic mic do u use , i see the shure mic but thats really pricey !!!
