Splitting a track

I heard that a audio track can be split into different parts like drums,bass,voice etc. i cubase. how true is it. if ts true i do i do it? or r there any other softwares that do dis kind of stuff?

u record each track into cubase, protools etc.. seprately

Hey man,
You can filter it so all you hear is low frequencies (bass), hi frequencies (hats) or mid frequencies (vocals). It won't auto split an existing finished song.
