The Soundscape. I know this involves mixing but I'd like to know more about it. I am slowly getting to the point where the full bodyness of my soundscape is becoming an issue. Andreas was really one of the 1st people here to get my attention concerning the soundcape so guys what can I do? I heard that adding reverb to kicks helps but what for other instruments? I have never paid much attention to mixing threads so if i should search then let me know. I'm curious if it's instrument specific to what effect should be added with respect to the actual feel the beatmaker is going for.

btw, sorry for not posting feedback in the showcase. I wil judge next one an thanks for the feedback in the showcase everybody

theres a alot to do. panning, eqing, automation, and levels give you front-back and left-right. delay is good but ghost it. it gives a hidden harmonic. chorus is good... compression......just dont over do it or you will sound like early 80's stuff when efx went wild

I think there are 3 major things you should think about. "Hi's, Middle's and Low's".

What I mean by that is bass, middle and trebble.

bass and trebble gives the beat depth and hight. The middle range gives the beat width.

So think about using them all. have a full bottom bass sound. the main melodie in the middle range and then add elements that goes in the high range. Like for example a light synth or a ambient light sound. That will give the beat a sence of 3 dimensions if you follow me.

When you have those 3's covered you can start panning and mixing. But those 3 are really important when it comes to the space. Check any big producers beats and check what he does to fill the space for tips.

I hope this was of any help.
Peace / :D
