all that would do is save the sequence file.

did you save the actual .wav files as well? you should have saved a program file as well.

you have to save seq. and prog. files. if you remember where your sounds where placed load the seq, place the samples on the correct pads and press play, if everything sounds right then give the drum program a name and save it.

The MPC is smart... but it isn't Genius... it is only as smart as youtell it to be... you can save all sounds or you can save all sounds and programs... you can save everything seperate... or you can just save all songs and sequences... it can be very confusin, but if you just look into the crazy logic of the thing it starts to make sense... sometimes you have changed your sequences but your sound programs have not changed... so no need to save that again but you should save your new sequences... DAMN MPC FILING SYSTEMS!!! you will eventually figure it out

what i do is open a new folder, name it the same as the sequence and save the seq. and prog. in there along with the samples. when i first started i lost alot of bangers due to my wack ass filing system at the time.

tip: (remember this, cuz ur gonna do it, i guaruntee it, and it will hurt) if you are working on a song, and decide you need a certain sound in another folder, dont forget to switch back to your original folder... cuz when you go to save your program and sequences, and you didnt switch, you will delete the other song.. i've done this like 3 times, like a dummy.. mpc2000xl, but i'm sure the 1000 has a similar file system
